I grew up in Nashua, NH and developed a great passion for Boston sports that is with me to this day. I have fond memories of Sox games in Fenway Park, and Celtics games in the Garden (including Game 7 of the 1984 Eastern Conference Finals against the Knicks).
I became a Christian in college after studying evolution. That probably isn’t what the instructor wanted to happen.
I have been in “exile” in FL since ‘91 when I came to attend Reformed Theological Seminary. I received my MDiv and an MA in Counseling.
In the past I’ve worked as a bookkeeper, as a contract worker for Xerox Business Services, in a Rescue Mission and Ligonier Ministries. I am now a pastor.
I have a beautiful wife. We have a beautiful daughter and recently adopted a little boy from China who is full of life. I brought a dog into our marriage, and Huck is on record as the dumbest dog in the civilized world. This has not stopped Huck from having a ‘girlfriend’ named Maggie. Not that it matters, he has been robbed of his manhood.
I enjoy team sports, movies, books (theology, history, fiction etc), music (including strumming on my guitar), hiking (tough here in FL) and dodging hurricanes (which I’d gladly give up).
I am currently between pastorates (see my resume if you’re interested), filling my time with being a stated supply, daddy duty and all the tasks that come with searching for a new pastorate (including my least favorite activity- waiting).

Yes I would have to agree that Huck is pretty stupid…especially for peeing on our presents. Tell Amie “hi” for me
Well, the dog saw the tree and got as close as he could. What more can you ask for?
But that will be the LAST Huck story
Hey, dude,
I am NOT the dumbest dog in the world. I know for a fact that the White’s have a dog that might give me a run for my doggie toys.
You know I love you so much that I almost screw myself into the floor with excitement when you come home. Gosh, I even tolerate that cute little kid laying all over me. And you know what else? That really pretty lady that is always with you…..she really likes me, too. She gets so excited about all the shedding hair. It’s so cute!
I love everyone that you bring home, too. Of course, not everyone appreciates my kisses.
Don’t forget that even though you have smeared my good name, I am still your best friend.
Your pooch,
Huck
PS I had to have one of my human friends do this for me. I don’t get all this modern technology. I miss the good ole days when all I had to deal with was a doggie whistle.

That has to be an imposter. Huck doesn’t like to kiss. He likes to sneeze on people.
cavman,
I noticed my brand spankin’ new blog (Dangitbill!) on your list of visited websites. Just curious, how did you find me? BTW, I notice that you are interested in much of the same things I am. Except I root for the Dodgers instead of the Bosox.
Leave me a comment at Dangitbill. Thanks.
Ok. I have addressed you in a shortened form of your blog ID assuming it is some form of cave man. My ignorance. Please forgive me. What is the story behind the name so to speak? Why cavman?
I have been listening to your sermons. Very enthusiastic. I appreciate it. Where in FL are you pastoring?
Actually a nickname based on my last name. It is Cav-man. The first a is short, not long.
Currently pastoring in Winter Haven.
Hi Cavman,
Greetings from New Hampshire. Tell Amie hello for Chuck, me and the kids and hugs to your lil girl.
I like your blog and I am trying my hand at one…rookie that I am. I added your blog link to mine.
Been enjoying your blog as a lurker for some time now. I’m giving it my June “Off the Path” award over at my blog. Best wishes and blessings! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the encouragement!
Do you have an email address?
why? I’ve spent enough time on this issue. My understanding of biblical theology won’t undergo that radical a shift.
I didn’t want your email to debate.
Just wanted to send you the url to a website created in memory of David Abrami by some of his friends. We found your blog and put a link on the site to your postings about Dave. Please pass it on to any other friends of his you’re still in touch with. http://www.davidjabrami.com
You adopted a boy from China? I’d love you to tell me about him. My avatar is my beautiful China doll (funny face here) who came home with us 4.5 years ago. I think you’ve been to my blog and can see her there, too (I’ve a better picture under the post on Cordoroy).
Sorry to brag, but I also have two gorgeous SMART girl dogs (also de-sexed). They are featured on my blog as well… maybe Huck would like a look??
CavWife’s travels to pick up CavSon begin 1/17/08.
In short, he’s mostly happy. He can be whiny at times (not sure if that is his personality, or developed in the orphanage). He can be a bit stubborn, at all the wrong moments. He loves to follow his big sister around on his little fire truck ride on toy (and she on her trike). He could play with dinner for hours if we allowed him to.
Read your statement about your dog “huck”. Needs to be revised to read—Dumbest LIVING dog.
PS Wonderful family!
Your blog is truly an encouragement and an aspiration to many. I have added you to my blogroll, and if you would like to add me to yours I would be most honored.
Sincerely, Dee
Cavman,
I’m interested in hearing more about how you became a Christian in college! How did evolution do that?
Greg
Greg,
I’ll try to put that in an upcoming post. Check back in a few days.
okay….. here it is.
Hi Cavman!
Please send me an e-mail address as I need your help with our pastor search. D Wayne said I should contact you. Thanks!
